【 About Zoshigaya 】

Zoshigaya is like a blank space in the midst of Tokyo's dense metropolis.

Looking down from Shinjuku Garden Tower, amidst the bustling crowds to the south of Ikebukuro, you can spot a vast green space - Zoshigaya Cemetery, a symbol of this neighborhood. This cemetery is the final resting place of numerous Japanese celebrities, but it's also a place for local residents to unwind and relax. Strolling through the cemetery, breathing in the air of this world, you may feel transported to another realm. It's a truly marvelous experience in the heart of Tokyo.

As you cross the Arakawa tramway, and venture deeper into Zoshigaya, it's like stepping back in time to Tokyo of the Showa era. There are shops that have been around for over a century, run by elderly shopkeepers who have spent their entire lives there. There are also old shops that have been reborn and stand the test of time, aging together with the neighborhood. Here, you can experience the most authentic scenery of Tokyo's downtown and the most genuine aspects of Tokyo life.

15:10-16:30 Take a slow walk in Zoshigaya Area.

· Kishimojin Temple

· Toden Arakawa Line

· Zouni Store ( Maybe the shortest arcade shop street in Tokyo )

· Nozoki Hill ( a cliff in the center of Tokyo )

· Akamaru Bakery ( for delicious cream bread )

· Tabineko Zakkaten ( Japanese art shop )

【 How to find the organizer 】

The organizer will take a small umbrella and wear a dark blue flat cap that writes “ys”.

【 Fee 】

JPY 300

Including a drink (water/tea) and guides during the whole walks. You can also get tourist advice and language help from me.

【雑司が谷について】

東京という巨大な密集市街地の中で、雑司が谷は一つの空白のような存在です。

新宿ガーデンタワーから見下ろすと、池袋の賑やかな街並みの南側に広がる広大な緑地が見えます。それが雑司が谷の象徴である雑司が谷霊園です。ここには多数の日本の著名人たちが眠っていますが、近隣住民がくつろいだり、休憩したりする場所でもあります。墓地を散策し、都心の空気を吸い込むと、都心ではないところにいるような気がするかもしれません。本当に素晴らしい体験だと思います。

都電荒川線を越え、雑司が谷の奥深くに足を踏み入れると、昭和時代の東京にタイムスリップしたかのような気がします。100年以上続く老舗があり、そこで一生を過ごした老店主が経営しています。また、古くなった店舗が生まれ変わり、地域とともに年を重ねている店舗もあります。ここでは、東京の下町の最も本格的な景色、そして東京生活の最も真実的な面を体験できます。

※時間通りにお越しください。遅れた場合は、ウォークを先に進めることがあります。

10:10-11:30 雑司が谷周辺をゆっくりと散策します。

以下の場所を訪れます：

・雑司ケ谷霊園

・鬼子母神堂

・都電荒川線

・雑二ストアー（おそらく東京で最も短いアーケード商店街）

・のぞき坂（都心にある崖）

興味がある場合は、以下の場所も訪れるかもしれません：

・上川口屋（日本の駄菓子屋さん）

・赤丸ベーカリー（美味しいクリームパンのため）

・旅猫雑貨店（日本のアートショップ）

【オーガナイザー】
